Artichoke & River Rock

Sorry, I’m late, again – and holding up the blog hop – I feel so bad – the card was done, but I was “waiting” to post & then fell asleep.  School is just too much for me right now.  Will probably drop for a bit – but the new color combos look smashing!   I am going to go to Joni’s blog to see what she created – this combo had me stumped!   Anyway, I did this on MDS and was wishing I had more dsp selections, so maybe with the May special I’ll get a couple more downloads – the one that is new as of yesterday was really nice (in-colors 2012-13).  Hop on over to Sandy’s blog – I’m going there next myself!

Riding Hood Red & Cherry Cobbler

I know Joni did a great job with her entry this week – I’m guessing you have just come from her site.  This challenge combines two reds and was outside my comfort zone – but they really do work together.  I guess you could say this card evolved – it took several hours, seemed like at every turn something did not work quite right, but I stuck in there until I had something to show.  I loved the idea of using the jewelery tag  punch at the top, and I had fun using Cherry Cobbler embossing powder on the Designer Builder Brads. (I hate to say this, but you really have to click on the image to see it well.)  All supplies will be listed below . . . now hop on over to Sandy’s Blog – I can’t wait to see if she used a technique she hinted about from her fantastic time at the Baltimore Regionals.  Supplies:  Stamp Sets – Easy Events,  Patterned Party (candle)  CS – Riding Hood Red, Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron, Midnight Muse, Whisper White, DSP – Sycamore Street (SAB), Designer Builder Brads, Cherry Cobbler embossing powder, pearls, Chevron ef, Textured Impressions EF, Markers – Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, aqua painter, Finishing Touches Edgelit (scrap side of cs), crystal effects.

Elegant Eggplant & Perfect Plum

eepp 001I don’t know about where you are, but we skipped Spring and went straight to Summer this week – it’s in the 90’s here, and I’ve got to say I’m not quite ready for this!  We have no leaves on the trees and heat – but this hydrangea would love this weather!  Glad you could come over from Joni’s blog ~ I’m sure she thought of something extraordinary to show you.  Sorry I’m late with my posting, and that I’m so hit & miss, life is a bit complicated right now – I did enjoy making this card, and would not have done so without the challenge – so thanks ladies!  Now hop on over to Sandy’s site and see what she did with this color combo – that I’m glad to say is going to be staying around.  The hydrangea is similar to the one in the Flowers Best of set (which is actually from the Stipple Hydrangea set) – but is  the retired Because I Care set; I used a one inch circle punch with the saying from Elements of Style and placed inside one of the Soda Pop Tops  that I flattened by running it through the Big Shot.  I used the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions  &  the Framed Tulips embossing folders – this is the first time I tried changing the size of the Framed Tulips folder and it worked pretty well.  I’ve also got to add a note – I was not a very happy camper when the SU  “Color Renovation” occurred – but I’m on board now and have already changed my markers for the “Color Refresh” & only need 2 more to complete the new pallets.  Also, rumor leaked yesterday makes me think I’m going to be happy with the new “In-Colors” – I hear there is a light green!
