Coastal Cabana

coastal cabana 2 001Our challenge this week is to use the new In-Color Coastal Cabana – I went with the Smoky Slate &  Coral Calypso combo.  Thanks for poppin in from Joni’s – can’t wait to see which color combo she used.  My card is a CASE (sort of – so I want to give credit to Patty Bennett) and it is also and clean & simple card.  I sponged the three colors, used Smoky Slate ep w/2 stamp sets: Field Flowers & Too Kind (sentiment).  This should cheer up a colleague who had knee replacement surgery.  I love this sentiment – I want to tell friends I’m thinking of them (when they have surgery – but ‘get well’ does not seem appropriate, and ‘thinking of you‘ gets tired after a while).  This is the 3rd card I’ve made for this challenge – I made another that I love, but could not get the smoky slate to work with it, then I made one and the smoky slate seemed to take over!  Anyway, today I enjoyed stamping with Buffy Cooper (thanks Buffy for the place to hang out) and Sandy – speaking of Sandy – it’s time to hop on over and see what she’s got brewing – I got a sneak peak today – it’s a beaut!

Crisp Cantaloupe

20130618_173009Hi and thanks for stopping by!  I couldn’t help humming  “Make new friends & keep the old” from my old Girl Scout days as I worked on this card.  I really liked how Joni (click to check out her blog) used the colors this week.  I was not sure which combo to pick, but went with these. The Crisp Cantaloupe is my new friend and the Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, & a couple of retired items are old friends.  This combination surprised me in how well it all went together. Sorry the tones are not exactly right – I picked clarity over tone – tried two different ways to take this pic – it is really pinker than it looks. I used several other new friends: Kind & Cozy & Too Kind as well as the new Candy Dot Brad Base to mount the old friend Twitterpated button & even older ribbon & dsp.  Sorry – they just all went together too well not to use them.  The vine is another product I had a scrap of.  The inside is just as cute & I know my friend from school who is recovering from Rotor Cuff surgery needs this sweet pick-me-up!  I even made a liner for the envelope with the new gingham wheel.  Now hop on over to Sandy’s blog, she has not let the cat out of the bag this week on what she’s got cookin’ – a great mystery that you need to check out.  Also a special ‘thank you’ to Sandy – I could not have participated if she hadn’t been so kind and given me a package of the NEW in-color card stock – when my order finally arrived I was very upset that I had put in the wrong in color cs and markers – She is always there to solve my problems.crisp 001

Strawberry Slush

strawberry 001Sorry I am late with this post – technical difficulties – so I’m going to be brief – This is the first challenge with the new in-colors – I used strawberry slush w/rich razzleberry & sahara sand.  I had to do part of the image on mds because my new order has not arrived yet – I think it is on a slow boat from China???  I love what Laura did with these colors – you may have arrived from her blog – ice cream in yummy flavors!   Next in the hop is my good friend Sandy – so make sure to go check out what she did – don’t know how she got this done – because she just got back from Ireland – greens would have been easier for her I think!  But we all have fun with the colors!  ‘Til next time.
