Melon Mambo

melon 001If you have come from Joni’s Blog I’m sure you were impressed with her rendition on these colors – she always puts them together so well.  This is the second attempt I have made with this combo – I went with the daffodil delight/tempting turquoise (other option was old olive & elegant eggplant).  I made this a bit hard on myself because I got it in my head I wanted to make a different size card – so I tried to make it the size of a business envelope – Once you are used to making one size card – it gets a little difficult to switch ~ or so I found out.  Several demos contributed to this card – thanks to Sandy for the ribbon, and to Buffy for several of the stamps.  Now hop on over to Sandy’s Blog at Ice Mountain Designs and see what she has whipped up for today. The recipe is long:  CS: whisper white, daffodil delight, quartrefancy specialty dsp, framelits: oval, secret garden, daffodil delight seam binding,  finishing touches edgelit,  versamark & white ep,  masking tape technique w/blue painters tape with daffodil delight, melon mambo & tempting turquoise ink pads,  stamp sets: background builders, secret garden,  really good greetings.  For the flower I used a dry paint brush to move the melon mambo from the outer edge and from the center out – then also applied by using marker on dry paint brush.

Daffodil Delight

IMG_0015Today’s challenge is to use Daffodil Delight w/Cherry Cobbler & Early Espresso or w/Night of Navy & Old Olive.  I went with the first combo.  I find it easy to use two out of the three colors, but adding a third color is difficult for me . . .  well, yes – it is a ‘challenge‘!   If you came here from Helen’s Blog didn’t you love what she did – she always posts such classy cards.   I’m at the end of the hop this week – so if you haven’t been to all of our entries hop back to Robbie’s blog and check out what she has prepared.  I’m really impressed with all the creativity demonstrated on our blogs and am sure now that Convention is over there will be much more to enjoy.

Recipe: Versamark, white ep, markers, spritzer (w/water) round framelits, gingham garden washi tape, pearls, pansy punch, off the grid,  stippled blossoms, flower shop.

Bermuda Bay

sunday 045

If you hopped over from Helen’s Blog I’m sure you appreciated her entry today.  Most of my friends are on their way to Utah – have a blast you guys!  I chose to go with the smoky slate and tangerine tango combined w/Bermuda bay.  This is a triple fold card w/a square cut out that I saw on Split Coast Stampers – I Cased the technique.  Now go see what my friend Sandy has whipped up.  Recipe: Bermuda Bay, tangerine tango & smoky slate cs, square framelits, Venetian Romance DSP (that I made on MDS), retired ribbon, Love & Sympathy stamp set.

Pistachio Pudding

sunday 044Hi all, glad you could drop in – if you arrived from Joni’s site I’m sure you got to see another great combo – literally – I loved how last week she combined colors AND challenges!  This week I went with Pistachio Pudding, Smokey Slate, &  Strawberry Slush.  I made the little  paper  over the ribbon by using my versa marker and the old matt pack – then sprinkled on Smokey Slate ep to add a little interest, and yes that’s one of the new brads – naked so to speak.   I’m sure you are ready to check out what Sandy has in store – I think I’m crafting w/her tomorrow – so much fun!  Supplies: Retired Designer Builder Brads, Itty Bitties,  Tea Party, Designer Frames EF,  strawberry slush pistachio pudding smokey slate markers, Quatrefancy Specialty DSP, smokey slate chevron ribbon, pistachio pudding, smokey slate, whisper white cs, adorning accents edgelit.
