Welcome to our weekly color blog hop – you probably arrived from Joni’s blog – to continue the hop head on over to Sandy’s blog. My card today uses a combination of new and very old SU products. My favorite new product is the Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP – free as a Sale-A-Bration item ~ I designed my own dsp to match my project. You can color it any way you like – so handy! I used a very old product called the Plaidmaker – the Dots & Stripes stencil currently available would have worked as well. I used 2 colors of ink, but went over one of the stripes twice to darken it. I played with three more new-to-me toys: calypso coral and crumb cake blendies (free too!) and the Sahara Sand ribbon lace. Then I tried a new technique – sewing – I’m pleased with my first attempt at sewing on cardstock. The image is from Button Bear (retired). I double stamped the bear & heart and fussy cut the head, paw pads, bow & heart and popped them up them to give some dimension – it does not photograph well – I’ve tried 12 times [flashlight technique, going outside etc]. I thought this would make a perfect Valentine for my mom. Thanks for stopping by.
Welcome to our hop – if you started at the beginning you should have arrived from Laura’s blog – it’s so fun to have her back with us this week. To continue on the hop head on over to Sandy’s blog – appropriately named Ice Mountain Designs – I’m afraid we’re expecting snow again and her abode lives up to it’s name! My card this week features another of the new stamp sets from the 2015 Occasion Catalog – Moon Lake. To create the misty look I sponged with craft white and at the top I swiped the card with my Illuminate ink pad (sadly retired). I also added a few grassy images from the stamp set Wetlands. Thanks for popping by – leave a comment if you please.
Welcome to our blog our hop. You should have arrived from Joni’s blog and when you finish here carry on over to Sandy’s blog. Our inspiration was provided by this lovely picture that Robbie selected – the colors are so much fun to work with and lent themselves so easily to one of my new toys ~ the Butterfly Basics Bundle.
I cased a card by Barbara Kapla seen here. My daughter’s birthday is coming up soon,to be followed by her wedding 3 days later – yes, we are getting excited, nervous, and a fleeting moment of panic here and there. She has been planning for a year, so I know it will be beautiful.
Happy New Year blogger friends. Today’s inspiration is a beautiful picture of white roses with gray tones for definition. I found it very challenging to come up with a card. Sadly, I need another sympathy card – actually I need more than one. You probably arrived from Joni’s blog – I hope her card is cheerier than mine! To continue on our blog hop – head on over to Sandy’s . . . I’ll bet she’s hunkering down on her icy mountain – the weather here today was snowy and now has turned icy with wind chills expected tomorrow to be a whopping ZERO! A few inches of snow just about shut down northern VA and the DC area – they say it was the timing of the snow. I was eternally grateful for a snow day – was not feeling very well. Supplies used: Stippled Blossoms, Simply Sketched (retired), smoky slate cs and ep, basic gray ink, Wink of Stella brush.
