Hi Hoppers! You should have arrived from Joni’s and as usual Sandy’s blog is next. Let me start by saying this is kind of a weird card – I had in mind the design for the week’s challenge (see colors & inspiration photo). We all know we never know what each day will bring – a few days ago mine began with a phone call at 7 am from my Mom’s nurse explaining that she was getting ready to go with her angels. She has been waiting for this day for many years ~ decades in fact! Mom never hesitated to remind us of this, frequently ~ usually while she puffed on a cigarette. So while I waited by the phone, my brother made a 2 hr dash over to Chestertown to be with her. He made it in time to say a last good-bye and be with her as she began her final journey. She was such a character – and this card turned into a way for me to think of her while I waited. She would have loved it! And it is totally all about her 🙂 Mom had the gift of humor – she kept everyone in stitches. The inside says, “You Make Me Smile” – which I inserted through my tears – but she did and does make me smile. I will miss her immensely, but I know she is with her God – at long last.
I’ve been reading a lot – summer break – for two weeks – then I will start teaching summer school for 5 weeks. Anyway, I found that I really like using a bookmark I had made myself . . . so I decided to make another. Here are the colors and pic for today’s challenge. You should have arrived from Joni’s and next up is Sandy.
Howdy stampers! Today was my last day of school w/kids – 2 work days and then I’m going to smell the salt air and dig my toes in the sand for a few days with my lovely daughter. Joni was before me and Sandy is after me so make sure you have checked out both their blogs – I know Sandy and I struggled with this one! I’m taking my book mark with me so I can keep track of where I am in my Scottish Historical Romance novels – sigh! Below are the colors, inspiration piece and my rendition. Thanks for popping in.
Hello and welcome from Joni’s blog . . . to continue our hop head over to Sandy’s blog. Here is our inspiration and color pallet:
I made this card at a recent demo meeting. Our upline had a really cool make-n-take challenge for us. She had surveyed all of us regarding our favorite SU colors, stamps, embossing folders, accessories etc. Then she had them all available to use. We each got an envelope with 4 items in it that we had to use on our card – or we could trade one item out. The items were velum, white baker’s twine, gold button and the doily. Here is my card:
