Color Blog Hop July 15, 2015

Hello  – it’s color blog hop day – I expect you have arrived from Joni’s blog and Sandy is back so head on over to Ice Mountain Designs to see what she has for us today.  I needed a masculine card for my son’s birthday so these colors were a great match, but I veered away from Helen’s pretty flower inspiration piece.  I don’t usually attempt to make cards flying by the seat of my pants – I’m pretty fanatic about having an exact idea before starting, but I went with mashing two ink pads (night of navy & marina mist) on a piece of acrylic and spritzing and then starting with that as my background on glossy cardstock, which is a rare choice for me, but I decided to give it a try.  I sponged lightly with hello honey to make the sand.  I had trouble leaving it alone – I kept wanting to add something else, but the details on the framing (from lil inkers) are indeed masculine and lend enough “extra” to stand as is.  ( I still want a little starfish or a sand dollar!)  For the inside I finally mounted one of my  NBUS  (Create A Cupcake) that retired at least a year ago, but I HAD to have –  and am pleased with the interior as well.41858323bHELEN 7josh 003josh 002

Color Blog Hop July 8, 2015

jo 004Hi Hoppers – you probably just saw a beautiful creation over at Joni’s blog – and I am the end of our hop this week.  I cased my card from Pinterest here.  My aunt sent me a sympathy card and requested to hear from me  . . .  I am very sorry to say I don’t know the last time we corresponded [oh my – it’s probably been at least 15 years], and that makes me feel very small.  So, I needed a nice hand made card [I can remember her being one of the first people I knew that made hand made cards] and I really like the layout and originality of this card.  Here’s to catching up with family . . . is there someone you have lost touch with?  Think about reaching out with a nice card.  Thanks for stopping by today.
