Hello hoppers – what a week! Three feet of snow and an extended vacation from school. 🙂 Here is my card for the week. I am sorry not to post the inspiration piece and colors but my computer won’t download them because of space issues. The colors I used are: whisper white, marina mist, blackberry bliss & rich razzleberry – I think basic black is the only one I did not use. This is an oldie but goodie – I have been craving doing roses since su came out with their new rose bundle, but I don’t have it yet, so I went with the Manhatten embossing folder, then watercolored. You should have arrived from Joni’s and as usual Sandy is next. I’m so psyched . . . I get to do lunch with her tomorrow. I need a little girl time after being inside for so long! Actually I’ve spent considerable time outdoors hefting and chopping up 3 feet of snow!
Brrrr . . . hope you are staying warm. We are trying to bounce back from zero degree weather w/the wind chill and then preparing for what is touted as an historic snowstorm due Friday – wow, when winter decides to arrive, she does so with gusto! Todays colors seemed manly to me, although the cute little kitten could sway me another direction. You should have arrived via Joni’s blog and please continue with our line-up by checking in on my good friend Sandy. I cased this card from Pinterest here. I use an oldie but goodie with Lovely As A Tree, and also for a more manly font went with the retired set Fundamental Phrases. I used an old wheel called Dry Brush. I did a little stitching with my machine to add a little interest. Thanks for popping in – I’d love for you to leave a comment.
Hello and welcome! Here are my cards – both last week and this week. I just got home (8:30 pm) from parent teacher conferences and the roads in Winchester are sheer black ice – yuck! So, I’m happy to be sitting by my fire and posting this clean and simple card that I cased from a card on Etsy. So here are the colors and inspiration – you probably hopped here from Joni’s site and Sandy is up next. Be sure to scroll down to see last weeks card.
I’m back 🙂 You should have arrived from Joni’s blog and to continue the hop, please click here to take a gander at Sandy’s blog. I am sure both are amazing entries as we begin a new year. I decided to try my hand at a water coloring technique I watched recently. Some of it was as easy as it looked, other parts – not so much; which is why I steer away from water coloring even though it is one of my favorite looks. I began by drawing a circle w/a pencil with my framelit as a pattern. Then before stamping each flower, I erased the portion that the stamp would cover – so stinking simple that I really thought, “Why would you need to do that?” – but alas it really is the KEY to getting your stamps where they need to be! This is the WPlus9 Pretty Little Peonies set – and the stamps are REALLY tiny – but with patience, the reward is worth it – or at least I’m pretty please with my first try at this. Now, to give Stampin Up a big plug – there is NO card stock like their Basic Black, Very Vanilla, or Whisper White (regular and heavy). They are staples in my stash of stamping supplies! Thanks for stoppin’ in – hope to see you next week!
P.S. sooo – you are wondering where the pic of my card is . . . (nothing is ever easy!) – it’s at school! I will try to upload the pic asap.
I wanted to keep the hop going, so I’m posting because it’s important to me.
