Color Blog Hop August 17, 2016

Oh my these blogs are really hitting on sentimental birthdays – the 17th was my grandmothers – Gammy to me.  She taught me so much, sewing, needlepoint, cooking and the art of giving of time and love.  She used to let me visit for a special week each summer and planned things just for me.  I hope I can be that kind of grandmother.  School begins officially for me tomorrow, although I did 4 days last week (extra) and then all summer too.  Tomorrow promises to be full of meetings – yeah – I’ve seen the schedule – whoop, whoop . . . NOT!  Our colors this week are shades of purple.  Thanks for peeking in on me – you should have come via Joni’s blog and up next is Sandy. IMG_0779

August 10th will always be a special day because it was my Dad’s birthday 🙂  You should have arrived here from Joni’s blog and Sandy follows me.  Make sure to check in on both of these special ladies and their renditions of monochrome red.  Here is mine.  I tried to get that ombre look – I think I got close!  This stamp set makes it easy.  I used Real Red and Cherry Cobbler.  I will be back at work as you are doing the hop.  I’d rather be at Sandy’s craft day!  It was a short summer and I have not finished what is on my list!  BUT 3/4 of my bedroom got hardwood installed today!  Yeah . . . next Monday the rest will be done . . .  now I want you to imagine emptying your entire bedroom, closets and all.  It will be worth it!  Thanks for stopping in.IMG_0778

Whew!  It’s really hard to accept that it’s August . . . I finish up ‘summer camp/school’ Thursday and start back next Wednesday – no wonder I feel like I’m in a whirl wind.  Amidst all that I’m trying to clear out my master bedroom for installation of hard wood floors next week . . . and I’m ripping up all the carpet, padding and carpet strips – yikes!  Better get on that!  We are taking a spin with a new idea – this week is monochrome yellows!  You should have hopped here from Joni’s and following me is Sandy – be sure to pop in there and say ‘howdy!’  My card this week uses So Saffron, Daffodil Delight & Crushed Curry with two ancient stamp sets – Thoughts  Prayers & Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Thanks for checking out my entry.  IMG_0771
