Coloring Down The Lines Bloghop

Now that my summer has officially started I’m excited to participate more regularly in the Sunny Morning Chat group over at Butternut Sage Designs.  They have started a weekly blog hop challenge where the SU Color Coach is the inspiration for the beginning of a card.  You have probably just come from Carol’s blog – isn’t her card great? To continue on our blog hop, go on over to Pam’s blog!  Great minds thing alike!

This week the color combos are Regal Rose with either Tempting Turquoise & Sahara Sand or Early Espresso & Daffodil Delight.  For now I went with the first choice but am probably going to try the second as well.  This is another first for me – spreading my wings in the tech world a little further each week!  Today I’m going to learn how to link to people before and after me to make the “hop” happen, and it will be the first time I’ve been part of a blog hop!  Hope you enjoy my card – I used the SU retiring set  The Nicest Things that I borrowed from a friend at school (Thanks, Karen), and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Now of course I really want this set, and only have a couple of days left to order it . . . decisions, decisions?  This was my first big attempt at paper piecing as well.  I made some cute dsp in the correct colors on su mds for the two dresses, then cut the card in places so I could slip the cut dress parts up under the white cardstock – that popped the basket out a bit – kind of a neat effect.  I used my trusty (and favorite of all my su supplies) markers and an aqua painter to color the images and finished it off by cutting it out with the Labels Collections Framelits – then layered RR, TT, & SS cardstock.  SU Rhinestones add a little glitz.  I’m sending this card to a special co-worker – the saying is so perfect and true.  Stay tuned and come visit again next week: color combos will be [I think] Real Red with Early Espresso & Pumpkin Pie or Bashful Blue & Crumb Cake.  Go ahead and take the next leap on our hop over to Pam’s blog for more great ideas!
