Real Red Challenge

If you are following our Coloring Down The Lines blog hop, you probably arrived from Jessica’s blog.  To continue the hop head on over to Pam’s blog – Todays color combo choices are Real Red with Bashful Blue & Crumb Cake or Pumpkin Pie & Early Espresso .  I went with the first – it seemed easier to me, but I am totally sure the other combinations are great as well.  This card was created in SU mds (My Digital Studio) .  I really like having the set Loving Thoughts on mds because I can change the size any way I like and I can get it on straight every time!  AND if I don’t like where it is, I can move it easy as pie!  This time I did print it out separately because I wanted it to pop up a bit, so I layered it and added dimensionals – so technically, it is kind of a hybrid b/c I used real layers of su cardstock and real rhinestones.  There are a lot of graduations currently,  and I thought this would make a nice card for  my co-worker’s daughter.  I especially like that it could be for a guy as well – I have a bit of trouble with those manly cards.  It does sparkle better in real life!  Feel free to leave comments or ask questions.  Thanks for hopping in.

Father’s Day – Remembering My Dad

As promised, here is the card I made with the images I posted a couple of days ago.  It’s another mds meets artweaver combo.  I distressed the Sahara Sand layer with my SU Cutter Kit.  My dad always wore Dickies Khakis to work around the house in – he had a matching baseball cap that completed the ensemble – I never saw my dad in jeans – it was either white shirt/tie/suit or the khakis – or sweats to run in.  Funny how a color will bring back a memory.  He instilled in me many great virtues – and I hope I can pass them on to my children.  Perhaps one of them will use this card for their father.  I used mds Loving Thoughts, Family Reunion, and Extreme Elements.  Over at Butternut Sage the next challenge is a masculine/Father’s Day card – this is my entry.  Hop on over there to see all the great cards.  Please feel free to leave a comment or question.  Thanks for visiting.

MDS Masculine Image TBC

I’ve been playing around again – yes, all day!  This post is a bit of a tease . . . one of the things I like the least is to be watching one of my favorite TV shows (NCIS for example) and at 59 minutes you just know what’s coming next . . . To be continued . . . – well, that’s what the ‘TBC’ in the title refers to – I’m working with this image to make a masculine/Father’s Day card for the next challenge over at Butternut Sage – it’s not due until June 10, but my good friend Sandy is setting the bar high and being a fantastic role model (in many ways) . . . and she is trying to stay one step ahead on the challenges we’ve been doing.  So, I started playing today with su mds and artweaver again – I know, it’s so addicting!  I’ve actually been working on three cards at one time – I’ll be posting my first entry to the Color Down the Lines Challenge later today (midnight).  I’ve also been playing around with the next color challenge as well.  It’s kind of hard to walk away when you’re on a roll!  Tune in next time (hearing “same bat channel” somewhere in my old brain files) to see how I complete my card with this image.  ‘Til then, happy stamping friends . . . can’t resist  . . . to be continued . . . .
