Mother’s Day Card

Paper Pricking

I know Mother’s Day has come and gone.   I had planned to visit my Mom on Mother’s Day proper, but back problems delayed my trip – I was going to hand deliver this with real flowers etc.  Now I’m going to put it in the “snail mail” – it’s getting so late.  This is a Fred She Said design with accompanying paper pricking pattern that you order as a download.  I hate to admit how much I love the immediate gratification of downloads – a little money and poof they are ready to use in a flash – and you never have to leave your chair!  I also used SU MDS and ordered the download of the Family Reunion set for the “Mom” – just had to have that script – I tried to make my own in Word, but it just wasn’t as nice!  Then I finished it off with SU’s Stampin Pastels on the edges and SU pearls to really polish it off elegantly.  They made a big difference in the overall look of the finished card.  The flower was colored with copics and hand cut – then I used the Punch Bunch Flower Tool kit to burnish the petals into a 3-D look.    I discovered using an Extra Fine Paper Piercing Tool by Erica (Avic Holland) made a big difference in the quality of the paper pricking.  There’s a big world of crafting out there – paper pricking and paper embroidery must be big in Holland. The green dsp is from K & Company Susan Winget Nature 12 X 12 pad, pink dsp is Recollections Itsy Bitsy Ditsy Cherry Pie, SU Naturals Ivory cs for card base,  Martha Steward border punch with SU Whisper White CS.  Thanks for looking.
